Introducing Judy M. Baker

Books saved Judy. Her mission is to help authors make a bigger impact and grow their income with their books. 

Judy wrote and self-published her first book at 16 after learning to run an offset printing press. Her stories and poetry appear in anthologies from Redwood Writers Press, the California Writers Club, and Napa Valley Writers. She is completing a memoir of resilience, tenacity, and gratitude, with healthy, delicious recipes. She has two business books in progress for publication in 2025.

While pursuing a degree in Drama, she worked in the main branch of the San Diego Public Library, while her three older sisters worked in the library at SDSU. 

Most authors sell less than 250 books, a shocking fact. Since 2011, Judy M. Baker has taken hundreds of authors from disappointing results to strategies for rebooting books and launching new ones. With Judy’s guidance, one client added $10K to her bank account in the first year and has continued to earn $10K or more each year since 2015. 

“Marketing is a conversation and everyone is in sales” are lessons she learned working with wine pioneer, Robert Mondavi. 

Presentations to the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association, Redwood Writers, Napa Valley Writers, Women’s National Book Association, and the Bay Area Consultants Networks have earned praise. 

Judy is the immediate past president of Redwood Writers, where she has taken over as newsletter editor for the club and will coordinate the 2025 Author Launch event with two of her friends. She is co-host of the Grand Authors Group with Melody Owen.

Judy served as president of the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association and was on the board of the Bay Area Consultants Network for sixteen years.
