Curious, Courageous, Committed
[00:00:00] Being curious, courageous, and committed, that would describe my adventure yesterday using a new piece of software. I had decided I wanted to try out using Ecamm Live Studio to do my live streaming. To compare my experience with it versus using Streamyard. What I didn’t expect is the following. I noticed there was a feature and I selected the interview mode, which kind of overrode most of what I had set up when I had practiced solo.
So there was a bit of a delay from the time the stream was to [00:01:00] start. Well, it did start, but you didn’t get to see us for about 18 minutes until we figured it out, or I should say I figured it out too. My guest was a good sport. We actually got on, uh, the phone and figured that, well, there were two things that I didn’t anticipate, number one.
Because Ecamm Live Studio is a Mac hosted app, you would think it would work with Safari, but even their technical notes recommend using a different browser like Chrome, which I was on, but I didn’t tell my guest that she should be on Chrome too. So that was our first hurdle, but now I know this. And the second was because I had opted to do the interview mode.
When she came into the studio, there were these two [00:02:00] icons and it looked like a phone and a red button, and I needed to click on the little phone in order to bring her into the studio. But once we got past all of that, we had a great time and I was able to have an enjoyable session for about an hour with my guest author Gloria Treister, who has written about Wellness 1 0 1.
Now, Gloria and I already are somewhat acquainted, so this wasn’t a completely blank slate. But she did ask me some questions about how she could potentially relaunch her book, and what about getting ready for her next book launch. So I was able to mentor her by asking her very specific questions and letting her [00:03:00] look at her desires and what she’s already doing, that perhaps she could modify slightly to get a better result.
Now she is fortunate. She’s been in business for a long time. She’s got a big following. She already has an established newsletter list. There were some things that she wasn’t yet doing, and now she can take action and just like I did experimenting with the software, she can experiment too to see if she gets a better result, and I think that she will.
She’s a lot of fun. She’s very knowledgeable and she keeps things straightforward. Digestible, and we even talked about that. Her book is very big. It’s about, I think it’s over 300 pages, but each of her tips are snack size, one or two pages, and [00:04:00] they’re clear and easy to understand. So she’s going to look at how she could sprinkle out those breadcrumbs.
To get more eyeballs on her book and potentially generate more interest in the course she’s designing. So I wanna salute all of you who are authors. You have to be curious and courageous and committed. So the next step is to take that same set of skills and apply it to. Helping people find you and your book.
